PVC industry reports on progress and calls for greater cooperation in times of austerity
Wednesday 02 May 2012At the close of the European PVC Value Chain’s annual meeting, on 27 April, the first year results of its new ten year sustainability initiative – VinylPlus – were presented. Despite significant challenges caused by the economic crisis, results indicate that the industry is on track to achieve the VinylPlus sustainability goals for 2020 set last year following the successful completion of its predecessor Vinyl2010.

Study shows VinyLoop PVC recycling reduces the global warming potential by 39% and primary energy demand by 46%
Monday 27 February 2012A recent Life Cycle Assessment Study benchmarks the environmental footprint of recycling against conventional production. The VinyLoop Eco-Footprint Study evaluates the environmental impacts of material recycled in the VinyLoop process, compared with virgin PVC compound, which is used in various plastics articles.

Vinyl 2010 - VinylPlus
VinylPlus is the new ten-year Voluntary Commitment of the European PVC industry which builds upon the achievements of the Vinyl 2010 programme, taking the next important steps in tackling the sustainability challenges for PVC and also in establishing a long-term framework for the on-going sustainable development of the PVC value chain.
